This weekend we will have R5 of the FIA GT1 World Championship in Spa-Francorchamps. Last year we took part in the 24h of Spa with the Nissan GTR for testing purposes and we ended up having a great result by achieving the podium. So we know that the GTR is very good around Spa in general. But this time the race is only one hour and we also carry 50kg of success ballast after being on the podium for the last 2 races.

It would be probably a good idea to finish outside the top 7 in order to drop the weight for my home race at the Nuerburgring in 4 weeks time, but racers as we are, that is not really a serious option for us. At least as long as we are able to run in the top 5. And that has certainly to be our target, even with the ballast in the car. After our test day in Spa we already saw that we have the potential to score good points and who knows what the weather will do in Spa. In the wet the weight is not such a big handicap.
Therefore we will be ready to put on a good fight and hopefully we will be able to walk away from Belgium with good points!
