After a long break since the China races, we have the comfort to head to San Luis still as the Chamoionship leaders. The only downside is that we carry 30kg of success ballast. But weight hasn't stopped us before from getting good results. More important will be to have a faultless weekend not only from the driving side, but also at pitstops, setup work and machine reliability. The Nissan GTR hasn't let us down this year even once, so I believe that actually won't be an issue.

Being out of the racing GTR for 2 month is tough, but its not that I've been lazy at the beach for 2 month, rather I had the pleasure to participate at some awesome Nissan events in the meantime. Driving the road GTR at those events was not only great fun, but it was also like testing. The road GTR's handling is actually similar in many ways to the race car, as unbelievable as it sounds.

The last of those events was at Silverstone last week and it was fantastic being back on that circuit where we achieved our arguably biggest victory this year by taking the Tourist Trophy. I had great battles there with Jamie Campbell Walter in the road GTR and it was fun to have passengers with us while we battled it all out!

I'm on the way to Buenos Aires now for another event before we head to San Luis. Last year we weren't that lucky there, but the car was actually very competitive. It' really hard to keep the car on the track there as coming off the record line just a few inches throws you into the walls instantly. So luck we also need. But regardless if we take the title or not, it has been an oustanding year for us this far with 4 victories. And that proves the incredible performance of the GTR and the hard work Nissan and the JRM team has put into it.

Therefore it would be nice to come home as Champions...

アルゼンチンでの最終戦に向けて

中国でのレースから長い時間が空きましたが、依然選手権のトップでサンルイスに向かうことができる気軽さがあります。ただ一つ、30kgのサクセスバラストを積まなければならないのがマイナス面です。でもウェイトは好結果を得るのに邪魔にはなりません。完璧な週末にするのにもっと重要なのは運転側だけではなくピットストップ、セットアップワーク、マシンの信頼度などです。Nissan GTRは今季一度さえも失望の念を僕たちに抱かせなかったので、実際に問題になるとは考えていません。

2ヶ月間もGTRレースから離れているのはタフなことです。しかし、2ヶ月間ビーチでのんびりと怠けていたわけではなく、その間Nissanのイベントに参加する楽しみなどもありました。イベントでGTRを運転するのは楽しいだけでなく、テストのような感じもあります。GTRのハンドリングは実際レースカーとあらゆる点で似ています。

最後のイベントは先週シルバーストンでありました。僕たちが今年おそらく最も大きな勝利であるツーリスト・トロフィーを獲得したサーキットに戻ってきたのはとても嬉しかったです。GTRでジェミー・キャンベル・ウォルターとすごいバトルが繰り広げられ、バトルの最中ずっとお客さんを乗せていて楽しかったです！

今はサンルイスに向かう前に他のイベントの為にブエノスアイレスに行く途中です。
昨年はこの地ではあまり幸運ではありませんでしたが、実際マシンはかなり競争できる状態でした。レコードラインからほんの数インチで壁に放り投げられるので、クルマをコースにキープするのはとても困難なのです。さらに運も必要です。しかし、タイトルを獲るか否かに関わらず、僕たちにとっては4勝という傑出した年になります。そして、それは信じ難いGTRのパフォーマンスとNissanとJRMチームのハードワークを証明してくれます。

それ故、チャンピオンとして帰ってこられたら良いです...
