It's been a while now since the last race in Zolder. In the meantime we were in Qatar for an event with Sumo Power GT and also tested with the development GTR there. Qatar has an amazing track, super modern and a great layout with lots of challenging corners. It was great fun to experience this track there. But more than that I'm looking forward to our next race in Portimao.

Portimao is one of my favorite tracks, a real pleasure to drive with all its up and down elevation and blind corners. The GTR should also be quite competitive there as last year we were able to win the QF race. Of course this year things are different and we have to see how good we can perform compared to the others, but we are optimistic for this weekend and hope to finally start to open our point tally, as we have not been able to collect much points in the first 2 races.

In Japan the Super GT had a great season start with the 23 car of Motoyama and Treluyer winning the first round in Fuji. Maybe that brings us luck too. But more than that I'm happy that racing resumed finally now in Japan after so many disasters hit the country. I think it's a good step into trying to find back to normality.

So now I hope that also everyone from Japan will support us this weekend!

第3戦　Portimaoの予告

ゾルダーでの前回のレースからしばらく経ちました。その間、僕たちはSumo Power GTのイベントとGTRの開発テストとでカタールにいました。カタールは素晴らしいトラックで、すごくモダンでレイアウトも優れた挑戦的なコーナーがいっぱいあります。このトラックを経験するのは大変楽しいものでした。でもそれ以上に、次のポルティマンでのレースが楽しみです。

ポルティマオは僕の気に入っているトラックの一つで、アップダウンやブラインドコーナーを運転するのは本当に楽しいです。GTRは昨年予選レースで優勝できたこともあり、かなり競争力があると思っています。もちろん、今年はまた異なるレースだし、他と比べてどんなに素晴らしいパフォーマンスが出来るか見てみなければならないけど、今週末に関しては楽観的で、初戦・第2戦では多くのポイントを獲得することが出来なかった分、最終的にポイント獲得へのスタートを切ることも望んでいます。

日本では、Super GTが、本山選手とトレルイエ選手の23号車が富士の第1戦で優勝という素晴らしいシーズンのスタートを切りました。たぶん、僕たちにも運を運んできてくれるのではないかと思っています。でもそれよりも、日本にいろいろな被害をもたらした災害を乗り越えてやっとレースが再開されたことをとても嬉しく思います。僕は日常を取り戻す努力の良いステップだと考えています。
