It was an exciting weekend in Brno. The free practice was wet most of the time, therefore most of the drivers only got a few laps running before the actual qualifying on Saturday. This made the qualifying and the qualifying race even a bigger challenge than usual. Again we made it through to Q3 and we finally had to settle for P4 for the qualifying race. Peter did a great start and we were running in P2 until the pit stop. Unfortunately we lost too much time there and I brought the car back in P3.

So on Sunday it was my turn to take the start for the main race and I was immediately behind the leading Maserati after turn 1 in P2. But because the Maserati jumped the start, he got a penalty and I therefore found myself in the lead, which felt fantastic! Just as I was busy to build a gap to make Peter's life easier for the second stint, the safety car was deployed because of an accident. This of course nullified my lead and as the pit time window was also open now, most of the cars pitted in immediately. Therefore it was a race of the mechanics. Our crew did the fastest pit stop they probably ever did, but unfortunately our car was stuck because the car in front was too close, which meant Peter had to be pushed back in order to leave the pits. This has cost us the lead and we were lucky to resume the race in P3. Peter drove a challenging race then but it was not possible to make up more ground and so we had to settle for P3.
Overall we are very pleased to be on the podium, even though it is a bit disappointing after leading the race. But there are still 3 races to go and there might be another opportunity to win!

GT1ワールドチャンピオンシップ ブルノ戦 3位表彰台！

ブルノではエキサイティングな週末になりました。 フリー練習時はほとんどの時間ウェット状態だったので、ドライバーの多くは土曜日の実際の予選前に数周走らせただけでした。 これが予選と予選レースを通常よりさらに大きなチャレンジにしたのです。 一方、僕たちはQ3に進めることができ、最終的に予選レースに4位で満足することになりました。 ピーターは順調なスタートで、僕たちはピットストップまでに2位に浮上していました。 しかし残念ながら、僕たちはそこであまりに多くのタイムロスをしてしまい、僕は3位で戻ってくる結果となりました。

そして日曜日、決勝のスタートを切るのは僕の番で、首位のマセラッティのすぐ後ろにつけ第一コーナーでは2位に浮上しました。 しかし、マセラッティはスタートが早過ぎた為、ペナルティが課され、その結果、気付くと僕は首位にいました。まさに素晴らしい気分でした！ ちょうど僕がピーターの2番手走行がより楽になるようにギャップを開こうと励んでいたところに、セーフティーカーが事故により配備されました。 これはもちろん僕のリードを無効にしてしまいましたし、またこの時にピットタイムウィンドウも開いたので、ほとんどの車がすぐにピットインしました。 それでメカニックのレースとなりました。僕たちのクルーはおそらく今までにした中で最も速いピットストップをしましたが、前車があまりに近くにあったので、不運にも僕たちの車は動きが取れなくなってしまい、つまりピーターがピットから出るためには押し戻されなければならないことになってしまいました。 首位だった分をこれに費やして、3位でレースを再開したのは幸いでした。 ピーターは、レースを積極的に追い立てましたが、かわすことが出来ず、3位に甘んじるほかありませんでした。

全体的に見て、僕たちはポディウムに登れて非常にうれしく思います、レースの首位にたった後では、少し期待はずれではありますが…。 しかし、まだ臨むべき3レースがありますし、別の機会で優勝するかもしれません!
