GT1 World Championship R2 Silverstone
P3 in Qualifying and retired in the Main Race.
It was not a lucky weekend again for our car. After a great qualifying which earned us P3 Peter started the qualifying race and handed me the car back in P4. Unfortunately we received a drive through penalty for cutting the white lone on pit entry. After I served my drive through penalty I tried to make up as many places as possible and was able to finish the race in P8. This would be our start position for the main race.
I took the start of the main race and lost a position at the start after being pushed off the track by a Maserati. I regained one position and while trying to make my way further up the grid I battled with a Maserati. This battle which was joined by a Corvette unfortunately ended up in the gravel bed with a broken suspension for me. All three of us tried to enter a tight corner first and this just didn't work out. It was a really sad end for us, especially with Peter not having the opportunity to drive at all during the race. The performance of the Nissan GTR was outstanding and we were able to lap consistently near the pace of the leading cars.
The good news was that our teammates actually won the race in the #22 Nissan GTR and my congratulations goes to both drivers and the whole crew. They drove a trouble free race starting from P5 in qualifying and worked their way up the grid steadily. So even though it has been a disaster day for our own car, it has been a great day for Nissan and it was nice to see that all the hard work we put in last year in developing the car already resulted in a victory.
The overall performance of the GTR makes us very optimistic now for the coming race, the next one being in Brno in 3 weeks.
But before that I will take part at the 24h race at the Nurburgring in a Nissan 370Z. I'm very much looking forward for that!

予選3位も決勝でリタイア。
またもや僕たちの車には幸運な週末ではありませんでした。 Peterが3位で予選をスタートさせ、4位で戻り僕に交代した素晴らしい予選の後のことでした。不運にも僕たちはピットエントリーで白線をカットしてドライブスルーペナルティを受けてしまったのです。 ドライブスルーペナルティを受けた後、僕はできるだけ多くの場所を作ろうとして、8位でレースを終えることができました。 この結果が決勝でのスタートポジションになります。
僕は、決勝のレーススタートを切ってすぐMaseratiに押し出されてトラックから出てしまいポジションを失ってしまいましたが、 ポジションを1つ戻し、さらにグリッドを取り戻そうとMaseratiとバトルになりました。Corvetteも参戦したこの戦いは、不運にも僕がグラベルに突っ込んでサスペンション損傷という結果になってしまいました。 僕たち3人は皆、我先にとタイトなコーナーに入ろうとして、これがうまくいきませんでした。 僕たちには、本当に悲しい終わり方でした。レースの間、全く運転する機会がなかったピーターは特にそうでした。 NISSAN GTRの性能は傑出していましたし、終始して先導車のペースに近いラップでした。
朗報は、チームメイトがNISSAN GTR#22がレースでまさに優勝したことで、両ドライバーとクルー全員を祝福したいと思います。 彼らは、5位から順調に故障の無いレース運びをし、着実にグリッドを上げていったのです。僕たち自身の車には厄日でしたが、NISSANにとってはすばらしい日になりました。そして、僕たちが昨年車を開発した際のすべての苦労が報いられ、早くも勝利をもたらしたということが嬉しかったです。
GTRの総合的な性能があれば、来たるレースに今は非常に楽観視してます。次レースは3週間後にBrnoで開催されます。
でもその前に、僕はNISSAN370ZでNurburgringでの24hレースに参戦します。 僕はそのレースをとても楽しみにしてます！
